Jonathan A. VanGemert

Jonathan VanGemert concentrates his practice on consumer and commercial litigation, automobile personal injury protection (PIP) and bodily injury (BI) defense, as well as contract disputes. He has extensive experience conducting facilitations, managing complex litigation portfolios and providing strategic counsel to clients. Jonathan is adept at handling all facets of auto negligence defense and his thorough approach to legal research and detailed analysis ensures effective representation and positive outcomes for his clients.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Jonathan worked at high-volume defense firms, where he managed hundreds of complex first- and third-party auto negligence cases. Earlier in his career, Jonathan managed multi-million-dollar portfolios at the largest creditor’s rights firm in the nation, while also representing clients in auto accident subrogation cases and engaging in public speaking on collection law and healthcare-related topics. With a strong foundation in auditing and risk assessment, Jonathan’s diverse background allows him to bring a strategic, detail-oriented perspective to every case.

Jonathan earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and holds a B.A. in economics from Albion College.

Jonathan lives in the Detroit area with his family, and their beloved English Mastiff, Junie.  Outside of work, you can find him coaching or cheering on his children in their various activities.
