Laura Henneman concentrates her practice on litigation of product liability, commercial liability, warranty and personal injury claims. Laura has experience in every stage of the litigation process, including pleadings, motions, depositions and negotiations. She is adept at drafting and revising contracts to ensure client compliance, as well as drafting corporate documents, such as bylaws and annual corporate reports.

Laura has successfully resolved numerous claims on behalf of the firm’s clients, including through settlement, arbitration and dispositive motions. 

In addition to client work, Laura regularly takes on pro bono work and is passionate about helping the Chicago community. Laura serves as a guardian ad litem for children in contested or problematic guardianship cases, advocating on the child’s behalf to find the most suitable home for him or her.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Laura worked as a law clerk at a prominent Chicago personal injury law firm. During law school, she clerked in the Narcotics Bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where she was involved in witness examination during a bench trial and conducted a grand jury indictment under the supervision of an assistant state’s attorney.

Laura earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law where she was an active member of the nationally ranked Trial Advocacy Team, winning first place at the regional championship of the American Association of Justice Trial Advocacy Competition. In addition, she was on the dean’s honor list and served as treasurer of Chicago-Kent’s Women in Law Society.

Prior to law school, Laura worked as a litigation paralegal at a Chicago law firm where she assisted with the defense of product liability claims. Laura majored in advertising and minored in political science at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she received her B.S. in journalism. She is a proud recipient of the Chancellor’s Achievement Scholarship.
