Magdalena Filipiuk focuses her practice on asbestos and commercial litigation, prioritizing favorable outcomes for her clients. She adeptly utilizes her research, drafting, and negotiation skills to navigate complex legal matters with precision. Additionally, she handles cases involving personal injury, workers’ compensation, and intellectual property, demonstrating her broad knowledge of these legal domains.

Magdalena believes that the practice of law is a form of civic engagement and social activism that plays a pivotal role in shaping and protecting the legal rights of individuals and corporations. She employs an aggressive, client-centered approach to litigation to ensure her clients’ interests are protected.

Prior to joining the firm, Magdalena served as an associate attorney at a general litigation firm where she assisted in client intake, depositions, discovery and settlement negotiations. Her practice focused on personal injury, workers’ compensation, family law, mass torts, commercial litigation and contract law.

Magdalena earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School where she worked at the school’s Public Justice Advocacy Clinic representing indigent clients in wage and hour disputes and name change cases. She earned a B.S. in history and global studies, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In law school, Magdalena served as a law clerk in the Environmental Crimes Section at the United States Department of Justice, Environment & Natural Resources Division and as a law clerk at the Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons. She also served as the senior production editor on The George Washington Journal of Energy and Environmental Law where her article “A Breath of Fresh Air: Using the Clean Air Act to Eliminate Air Pollution Hot Spots” was selected for publication.

When not practicing law, Magdalena enjoys snowboarding, kite surfing, traveling, reading and spending quality time with her friends and family.
