Mauricio Chavez is an experienced litigator focusing his practice on first-party insurance defense, insurance coverage and bad faith, construction, premises liability and transportation litigation. His extensive experience in all phases of the litigation process provides his clients with a comprehensive and effective approach to all of his cases.
Mauricio brings a unique perspective and set of abilities to his work, applying his previous experience as a solo practitioner and as general counsel to effectively manage cases from inception through trial.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mauricio honed his skills at notable Texas defense litigation firms where he gained trial experience and secured summary judgement on matters involving construction defect, personal injury and maritime law.
Mauricio earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law where he was on the Dean’s List and was a member of the Hispanic Law Students Association. He holds a B.B.A, magna cum laude, from the University of Texas at Brownsville.
Mauricio grew up in Brownsville, a border town in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and is fluent in Spanish.
In his free time, Mauricio enjoys spending time with his son Joaquin who is a pro gamer, future YouTube star and all-around great kid.
