Michael Raye is an accomplished litigator focusing his practice in first-party and third-party insurance defense, general business litigation, commercial real estate litigation and probate. In addition, he has extensive experience in transactional law, which includes business formation, real estate, commercial leasing, telecommunications and oil & gas title and leasing.
Michael is adept at negotiations and brings a unique perspective and set of abilities to his work. He is a zealous advocate for his clients throughout any dispute, applying innovative strategies that are effective, efficient and economical.
Prior to joining the firm, Michael served as an attorney for a boutique real estate and commercial litigation firm managing an array of matters from inception through trial and settlement. He also served as a senior associate for a mid-range tax services group in the Tax Controversy Department dealing with client administrative proceedings before the IRS.
Additionally, Michael spent a number of years as a title attorney and lead landman for a well-known oil and gas broker working primarily in Texas oil and gas shale fields. He handled due diligence projects for the acquisitions of oil and gas properties, title review and title curative, title runsheet preparation, oil and gas mineral leasing and negotiations regarding leasing and title.
Michael earned his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law, cum laude and holds a B.A. in government with a minor in history from The University of Texas.
Michael lives in Houston with his wife and son. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his son’s Boy Scout Troop (being an Eagle Scout himself) and enjoys spending time as a film and movie connoisseur.
