Michael McKeown focuses his practice on toxic tort, premises liability, class action and employment litigation.

Michael is particularly adept at motion practice and depositions, excelling at drafting motions and arguing on behalf of the firm’s clients, both at the county and appellate levels. He defends the firm’s broad range of clients at numerous depositions per month.

As a member of a trial team, he aided in the successful defense of a $15 million labor law matter, paving the way for him to handle varying cases from jury selection through verdict.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Michael worked as an associate attorney in a midsize New York City law firm, taking depositions across the country and assisting with trial preparation.

Michael earned his J.D. from New York Law School where he graduated cum laude and has a B.A. in political science magna cum laude from Rutgers University.

Outside of his work in the legal field, he is interested in traveling, photography and fitness training.

Representative Matters

  • Served as second chair in a Supreme Court, New York County, labor law matter regarding a deceased plaintiff allegedly injured during the original construction of the World Trade Center in the early 1970s. Plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury to return a verdict of $15 million, which was denied in full.
