William Kelly defends companies in high-stakes litigation, continuously delivering exemplary results for the defense. With a focus on tort and commercial litigation disputes, he handles all stages of civil litigation, including drafting responsive pleadings, motions and briefs, arguing motions in state and federal courts, investigating discovery matters and preparing cases for trial.

In addition, William has extensive deposition experience, including deposing numerous fact witnesses, treating physicians, expert witnesses and corporate representatives.

William identifies problems in cases quickly and litigates matters aggressively. This approach allows him to resolve issues expediently for his clients – and with favorable results.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, he worked as an associate attorney at a litigation firm in Chicago defending corporations and general contractors against claims of product liability, construction liability, catastrophic injury and wrongful death.

William earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he served as an associate editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. He also worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Holly C. Clemons of the Illinois Sixth Judicial Circuit Court and was a finalist for the Paul M. Lisnek Award for Excellence and Ethics in Trial Advocacy.

He holds a B.A. in political science and sports administration from the University of Miami. He graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. While earning his degree, he studied abroad at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
