Paul Whitfield concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation and representation of developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in construction matters, in trial courts and arbitration forums throughout California. Paul’s extensive experience in a broad spectrum of legal matters helps him provide his clients with innovative solutions and achieve favorable outcomes.

Prior to joining the firm, Paul practiced at various law firms, including Chapman Glucksman, a California litigation firm. Additionally, he gained experience in-house for a major national insurance company, where his practice included first- and third-party insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, catastrophic injury litigation, professional liability and general business litigation.

Paul earned his B.S. degree from the University of Southern California, and his J.D. from the University of California, Davis. While in law school, he advocated pro bono on behalf of victims of civil rights offenses.

Paul lives in the Los Angeles area. When not practicing law, he spends time with his friends and family, volunteers at his local library, and hosts barbecues.

Representative Matters

  • Acted as senior trial counsel for a major national insurer.
  • Obtained reversal on appeal of order denying summary judgment, resulting in published case law regarding the interpretation of insurance policy language.
  • Obtained summary judgment absolving client from civil fraud and unfair competition (Business &Profession Code § 17200 et seq.) claims.
