Chelsea L. Zwart Featured in Attorney at Law Magazine’s 2026 First-Generation Lawyers Special Issue

In a spotlight published in Attorney at Law Magazine’s 2026 First-Generation Lawyers Special Issue, Segal McCambridge Shareholder Chelsea L. Zwart highlights the role mentorship and practical feedback play in helping first-generation lawyers build confidence and find their path in the profession. She also shares how early exposure to multiple practice areas can help newer lawyers identify a niche with clarity and momentum.

Chelsea highlights Segal McCambridge’s law clerk program, which provides real-world experience through shadowing, research, discovery, drafting motions, deposition work, and weekly assignment reviews in a supportive environment. She also emphasizes the program’s philosophy, where there are no “bad” questions, as well as the program’s “lunch and learns” where experienced attorneys share best practices and answer questions in a relaxed setting.

“It’s all about helping those new to the legal field learn the culture, build confidence, and move forward together,” says Chelsea. The goal, she explains, is to create a safe, collaborative space that helps law clerks and first-year associates develop practical skills and professional confidence.
