Camerin Elkin focuses her practice on civil litigation, commercial litigation and insurance defense. Her practice includes the defense of third-party automobile negligence claims, general liability and product liability matters, breach of contract disputes, and trucking and transportation claims. Camerin assists clients throughout the litigation process, including case evaluation, legal research, discovery, motion practice, and preparation for hearings, depositions and trial.

Camerin has experience handling a variety of civil litigation matters and has developed a particular interest in the strategy and advocacy involved in defending claims from inception through resolution. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, she worked on commercial and intellectual property matters, including breach of contract, business law, premises liability, and lemon law matters, gaining experience throughout the various stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, legal research and writing, motion practice and case preparation. She also gained practical exposure to depositions and motion hearings, providing her with an understanding of the preparation and advocacy required at each stage of a case.

Camerin earned her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law, where she served as Chair of the Student Bar Association’s Wellness Committee, Associate Editor of the Michigan State Animal & Natural Resource Law Review and President of the American Constitution Society. During law school, she developed a strong interest in litigation and gained experience applying legal research, writing, and analytical skills to a variety of legal issues.

Before attending law school, Camerin earned her degree in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University. Her undergraduate education provided her with a foundation in business, client relations, communication and problem-solving that complements her legal practice. Her background in both business and law allows her to approach legal matters with an appreciation for the practical considerations and broader objectives that are important to clients.

Camerin lives in Michigan with her husband and two dogs, Atlas and Reacher.
