Ian Phillips focuses his practice on trucking/transportation and insurance defense litigation, with extensive experience in high-exposure cases and complex litigation strategies. With over 15 years of diverse legal experience, he has a proven track record of guiding corporate and institutional clients through all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation strategy through trial. Ian’s dedication to client advocacy and team leadership has consistently resulted in successful outcomes for his clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Ian served as a principal attorney at a Michigan-based law firm, managing a team of litigation attorneys and handling all aspects of insurance defense cases. He has also held roles as a senior attorney and compliance officer, where he provided strategic counsel to corporate clients and oversaw regulatory compliance for a financial institution. His breadth of experience includes trial preparation, risk analysis and attorney mentorship, underscoring his commitment to excellence in both litigation and leadership.

Ian earned his J.D. from Wayne State University and holds a B.A. in criminal justice from Michigan State University. He also previously acquired FINRA Series 7, 24 and 66 licensures.

Ian resides in the Metro Detroit area and is an avid runner, soccer player and enjoys bringing his beagle Koda along for outdoor adventures.  He is also a true music lover, plays guitar and sings with multiple bands in the Metro Detroit area.
