James S. Koehler

Jim Koehler is an accomplished trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience representing clients in complex, high-exposure litigation. His practice focuses on toxic tort, construction litigation, professional liability, transportation, product liability, catastrophic personal injury, employment litigation and general liability matters.

Jim has extensive experience handling multimillion-dollar claims from initial case assessment through trial and appeal. He regularly represents clients in matters involving toxic torts, construction defects, trucking and automobile accidents, product liability, construction negligence and professional liability claims, including the defense of healthcare professionals facing licensing and ethics matters. He also has experience litigating employment disputes, insurance coverage matters, contract disputes and a broad range of commercial litigation matters.

Throughout his career, Jim has served as lead trial counsel in numerous high-stakes cases, developing litigation strategies, managing all phases of discovery and trial and advocating for clients in state and federal courts. His practical, results-driven approach allows him to efficiently navigate complex legal issues while remaining focused on achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.

In addition to his litigation practice, Jim has experience drafting construction contracts and previously served as an arbitrator in the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program, further demonstrating his broad understanding of dispute resolution.
