Kyla Gauthier-Vaughan focuses her practice on toxic tort. She brings experience in litigation strategy, motion practice, discovery and courtroom advocacy. She is committed to providing practical, client-focused representation and works diligently to achieve efficient, effective resolutions for her clients.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Kyla was an associate attorney at a Chicago litigation firm, where she managed an independent caseload involving complex family law matters, representing clients throughout all phases of litigation. Her experience includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, conducting legal research, managing discovery, negotiating settlements and regularly appearing in court for hearings, motion presentations, pretrial conferences and case management proceedings. She began her legal career there as a law clerk before becoming an associate. During law school, she also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Thomas V. Lyons II of the Circuit Court of Cook County, where she conducted legal research, analyzed case law and observed pretrial and trial proceedings.

Kyla earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was named to the Dean’s Honor List. She holds a B.S. in business administration from Illinois State University.

Kyla is from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and staying active.
