Leonne Martin concentrates her practice in toxic tort litigation. She has experience handling transportation, premises liability, medical malpractice and insurance defense matters through all stages of litigation, including factual investigation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, arbitration, settlement negotiations and preparing cases for hearings and trials.

In addition, Leonne brings substantial courtroom experience from her prior role as an Assistant State’s Attorney, where she managed a high-volume caseload and handled numerous bench and jury trials. Her experience includes witness preparation, conducting direct and cross-examinations, presenting opening and closing arguments and negotiating plea agreements.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Leonne served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, where she defended state agencies, departments and personnel in civil litigation matters. She previously practiced with a Chicago-based insurance defense firm, where she handled a variety of civil litigation matters across multiple practice areas. Earlier in her career, she gained additional litigation and governmental experience through prosecutorial, federal and civil litigation roles.

Leonne earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Scholar and recipient of the Phi Alpha Delta Diversity Award. She holds a B.A. in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 

Leonne lives in Chicago with her husband and dog, Charlie Day, and enjoys spending time with her family exploring everything the city has to offer.
