Mackenzie (“Mac”) Brockmyre concentrates his practice on product liability, general liability, commercial liability and asbestos matters. His experience includes toxic tort litigation research and drafting memoranda in complex civil matters. Mackenzie represents clients through all phases of litigation and regularly supports dispositive motion practice.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mackenzie practiced with an international insurance defense firm, where he handled product, general and commercial liability matters as well as asbestos litigation. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk focusing on toxic tort liability, product liability, insurance matters and complex civil and business litigation. Mackenzie also clerked for the Honorable Paul C. Dawley, Chief Justice of the Massachusetts District Courts, where he gained experience in court operations and judicial decision-making.

In addition, before becoming an attorney, Mackenzie worked in the insurance industry as a claims representative. In that role, he handled workers’ compensation, product, cyber, auto and general liability claims on behalf of a hospital system and a major municipality, providing him with practical insight into claims handling and risk evaluation from the insurer’s perspective.

Mackenzie earned his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond.

Lives in Richmond, VA with his wife and two children.
