Matt Tamke concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance defense litigation.
In addition, Matt’s extensive experience as a senior paralegal at Segal McCambridge has significantly enhanced his transition to his current role as an associate. During his time as a paralegal, he was deeply involved in reviewing and drafting key litigation documents, coordinating communications with opposing counsel and expert witnesses and preparing cases for settlement or trial. His hands-on experience with case management, including reviewing medical records and drafting legal documents, has given him a unique perspective that continues to benefit his clients and the legal teams he works with as an attorney.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Matt gained diverse legal experience. He worked as a business development paralegal for a national franchise company, where he reviewed franchise agreements and coordinated high-level meetings with executives and franchisees. This role honed his skills in contract analysis and client relations, making him adept at managing complex legal agreements and communications. He also worked at a New York personal injury firm, handling plaintiff-side cases in areas such as medical malpractice and car accidents, further expanding his litigation expertise. Additionally, Matt served as a senior paralegal contractor for the U.S. Department of Justice, assisting federal prosecutors in investigating corruption in anti-trust matters, which provided him with valuable insights into federal legal proceedings
Matt earned his J.D. from New York Law School and holds a B.A. in history, magna cum laude, from Queens College City University of New York.
Matt lives in Cincinnati with his fiancé, Gabrielle, and 2 dogs, Alfie and Colby. He enjoys going on hikes and singing with the choir of Christ Church Cathedral Cincinnati.
