Maxwell concentrates his practice on insurance coverage and first-party insurance defense litigation in both state and federal courts across Texas. He is known for his analytical approach and his ability to develop practical legal strategies that align with his clients’ objectives.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Maxwell was a litigation associate at a regional West Texas firm, where he gained experience managing case files involving commercial litigation, third-party insurance defense, government immunity litigation, landlord – tenant disputes and oil and gas litigation. His work included discovery management, drafting motions and briefs, depositions and courtroom advocacy. During law school, Maxwell gained experience in both business and renewable energy law as a corporate legal extern for a national renewable energy company, where he focused on transactional work related to wind and solar projects.
Maxwell earned his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and a member of the Board of Advocates. He holds a B.A. in history and government from The University of Texas at Austin, where he was named a College Scholar in 2017.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling abroad, reading and exploring the Texas Hill Country.
