Melanie Sales concentrates her practice on first party insurance defense matters in state and federal court. She is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients through advocacy and honesty.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Melanie practiced with a Texas-based litigation firm where she worked on insurance defense and commercial litigation matters and gained trial-level experience. Earlier in her career, she was exposed to a variety of practices and experiences in the legal field, including advising low-income individuals on immigration and public benefits issues through a medical-legal partnership clinic, working with municipal law and general litigation groups and externing with a Pennsylvania trial court judge.

Melanie earned her J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law, where she served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Moot Court Team and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. She holds a B.A. in history and English from The University of Texas at Austin.

Melanie lives in the greater Austin area with her husband, her dog Summer and two cats named Kirby and Miso. In her free time, she loves exploring new restaurants and running trails.
