Meltem Ekren focuses her practice on civil litigation and first party insurance defense litigation in state and federal courts across Texas.

Before joining the firm, Meltem built a strong and diverse foundation of legal experience through roles with government agencies and private firms. She served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Kenneth M. Hoyt of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, where she drafted legal memoranda, analyzed case issues and gained exposure to complex federal litigation. She also worked as a legal intern with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, co-chairing immigration proceedings and collaborating with Homeland Security Investigations on matters involving business fraud, human trafficking and cybersecurity. Her additional experience includes law clerk positions at private firms in Texas, focusing on immigration and labor and employment law.

Meltem earned her J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she was active in the STCL Longhorns, Oil and Gas Law Society and Women in Law. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies from The University of Texas at Austin and studied abroad at Uppsala University in Sweden.

Before law school, Meltem taught world history to high school students in Houston. She now lives in Austin and enjoys fashion, floristry and baking for her loved ones in her free time.
