Tia Harris concentrates her practice in the areas of product liability, toxic tort litigation and general litigation. Additionally, Tia has extensive experience working with clients on Illinois Minimum Wage Law, Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, Illinois Prevailing Wage Law and Appointment of Guardianships.
Tia not only helps clients comprehend the legal intricacies of their cases and how they impact settlements but she also employs her innovative and proficient approach to skillfully manage settlement negotiations and provide ongoing updates on settlement offers. This distinctive perspective and her diverse capabilities consistently lead to successful and efficient resolutions, making her a valued asset to clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Tia served as an Assistant Attorney General in the General Law Bureau, Labor Unit of the Illinois Attorney General. In this role, she represented the State of Illinois in civil trial litigation, defending cases against state agencies, officers and employees. Her responsibilities included responding to complaints, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, conducting depositions and representing clients in administrative hearings. Shontia also drafted complaints under various Illinois labor laws and pursued judgments, including a significant $4 million judgment involving 72 claimants.
Tia earned her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. While in law school, she mediated cases in Chancery Court in Cook County as a certified mediator, served as a summer intern for the State of Illinois State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor and as a law clerk for an Illinois litigation firm concentrated in municipality law. She holds a B.A. in communications and Spanish from Millikin University.

Tia lives in Orland Park with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling with her family and loves discovering new restaurants.
