Segal McCambridge Participates in the 2023-2024 Mansfield Certification, Published in Attorney at Law Magazine

In an article published 7/26 in Attorney at Law Magazine, the firm announced its participation in Mansfield 7.0 Certification for 2023-2024. This certification recognizes law firms for demonstrating a strong dedication to recruiting, retaining, and elevating attorneys historically underrepresented in legal practice. To earn certification, firms must consider at least 30% female lawyers, lawyers from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, lawyers with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ attorneys for several categories, including permanent lawyer hiring and promotion to leadership roles.

“I am extremely proud to be a part of a firm that prioritizes the Mansfield Certification, which fosters inclusive and equitable work environments in law firms. This is a step in the right direction for us and the legal industry as a whole,” said Jason P. Eckerly, Managing Shareholder at Segal McCambridge. “The process of earning and maintaining this certification makes us a stronger firm and sets the standard for diversity in law practice for years to come.”

Mansfield Certification fosters even more diversity in midsize and large law firms following the recognition. The certification is awarded based on a year-long process in which the Diversity Lab evaluates a series of criteria from every firm seeking certification. Over 80 major companies, including Google, Pfizer, and Twitter, support the effort. This year alone, over 360 firms were awarded Mansfield Certification.
