Paul Motz and Jordan Rosenberg Secure Pretrial Settlement Win

Segal McCambridge Chicago Shareholder Paul D. Motz and Philadelphia Senior Associate Jordan B. Rosenberg secured a successful zero settlement payment for a client involved in a catastrophic construction injury case in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.

The matter involved a Plaintiff who was struck by a falling 6,000-pound steel trellis at a construction project. Plaintiff was a superintendent of a general contractor on site. Plaintiff suffered brain damage, in addition to other neurological and orthopedic injuries.

Plaintiff sued several defendants alleging that the defendants negligently failed to provide a safe workplace and sought to recover significant lost earnings, future medical expenses and damages for pain and suffering and his wife sought damages for her claim for loss of consortium.

Ultimately, the parties negotiated a multi-million pretrial settlement with two co-defendants’ insurers splitting the cost to resolve the matter.
