Segal McCambridge Decides to Take a Day ON to Honor Martin Luther King, Jr.

Segal McCambridge SInger & Mahoney will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2019, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and in observance of Martin Luther King Day. The firm issued the following statement and challenged all employees to use the day off to participate in volunteer intiatives:

In observance of Martin Luther King Day, and to honor Dr. King’s legacy, all Segal McCambridge offices will be closed on Monday, January 21st. Our decision to take this important step is not based on business considerations, political views, or what other firms are doing or not doing. We’ve made this decision because we believe MLK Day is a holiday unlike any other. It is a day not only to celebrate a man of great vision and compassion, but also to put into practice Dr. King’s ideals of universal brotherhood. It is an opportunity to help continue the mission he began. In this spirit, we are inviting our employees to use the day off to participate in service projects, and we’ve identified a variety of service opportunities they may take advantage of in each of the firm’s home cities throughout the country.

Martin Luther King day is observed the third Monday of every January and was first observed in January 1986.
