John Bateman is a trial attorney whose practice centers on defending product liability and complex tort cases. He has served as lead trial and appellate counsel for manufacturers of automotive, industrial, recreational and consumer products in high-stakes litigation. John draws on decades of courtroom experience—having handled cases in over 20 states—and is known for skillfully guiding clients through both trials and appeals.

Before joining the firm, John was a shareholder at a regional litigation firm where he led the defense of product liability and commercial cases for major manufacturers. He handled trials and appeals across Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and numerous other jurisdictions, developing a reputation for effective advocacy at both the trial and appellate levels. Earlier in his career, he practiced at a Boston-based defense firm and has taught trial advocacy at national trial academies and as adjunct faculty.

John earned his J.D. from Temple University School of Law. He received his B.A. in politics and government, cum laude, from the University of Hartford.

In his spare time, John enjoys exploring antiquarian book and map stores, the bite on Block Island Sound and the joy of being a husband and father of three. He also remains active in his community and has been recognized by the Philadelphia Catholic League Wrestling Coaches Association for his longstanding involvement and leadership. He is a recipient of the Hal Selvey Award for Unselfish Leadership (1977), the Lt. Travis Manion Award for Career Achievement (2017) and the Bud Lindholm Award for Outstanding Service (2025).
