Phil Miller focuses his practice on defending clients in complex civil matters from pre-trial strategy through resolution. He has experience managing civil and criminal matters, conducting depositions, drafting and arguing motions and appearing in court. His background includes the defense of catastrophic personal injury cases, engaging with insurance carriers and preparing expert witnesses.

Phil is a member of the firm’s Sports, Recreation and Entertainment practice group and provides pro bono support to organizations such as Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Before joining the firm, Phil served as a litigation associate at a New York–based law firm where he managed complex litigation matters and developed defense strategies across various practice areas. Additionally, he worked as an assistant district attorney in the Bronx, where he prosecuted criminal cases, litigated evidentiary hearings and handled all phases of criminal investigations and motion practice. While in law school, Phil gained additional experience through roles with private-sector legal internships focused on personal injury and corporate law.

Phil earned his J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law, where he served as president of the Entertainment & Sports Law Society and was a staff editor of the CUNY Law Review. He is currently pursuing an LL.M. in intellectual property law at Cardozo School of Law, and he holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in corporate communications from Baruch College, City University of New York.

Phil lives in New York City and enjoys playing pool and studying languages in his free time.
