Rashaan Williams focuses his practice on civil litigation, municipal liability, insurance coverage and business disputes. He brings more than 15 years of experience representing public entities, state agencies and private clients across New Jersey in a wide range of litigation matters. He has served as lead and supporting counsel in cases involving civil rights, premises liability, tort claims, contract disputes and environmental enforcement actions with experience guiding matters through trial, arbitration and appeal.

Prior to joining the firm, Rashaan served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Trenton, where he defended the city in complex litigation and advised on high-value contract negotiations, regulatory settlements and departmental policies. He also led the Department’s outside counsel and served as the Acting Director. Earlier in his career, Rashaan served as Deputy Attorney General in the Tort Litigation Section of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and held counsel roles for the cities of Newark and Trenton. He also practiced as a solo practitioner, managing a general litigation practice with a focus on commercial matters, insurance defense and appeals. In addition to his litigation work, Rashaan worked as an insurance claims analyst at a major global insurer.

Rashaan earned his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, where he served as Notes Editor of the Rutgers Law Review, was a member of the Moot Court Board and National Mock Trial Team and received multiple academic scholarships. He earned his M.S. in sports management from Columbia University and his B.A. in history from Bucknell University, where he Captained the varsity wrestling team.

Rashaan was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey and is currently a proud resident of Trenton, New Jersey with his cats Wiggly, Bear, Brownie, Milo and Twin.  He is also a senior member and avid supporter of the B-52 Kickboxing Team and a carded Varsity Wrestling Official for the State of New Jersey.
