Richard Glucksman concentrates his practice on complex multi-party litigation involving construction, environmental, business and catastrophic loss matters. He represents builders, developers, general contractors and business clients in high-stakes disputes involving public and private projects, professional liability and commercial litigation. He also has significant experience defending professionals, including attorneys and accountants. Richard is an A-V Preeminent® rated – Judicial Edition with Martindale-Hubbell and has also been named to the California Super Lawyers list since 2006 and has been recognized in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for Construction Law. He is the managing shareholder of the Los Angeles office and co-chair of the firm’s Construction Litigation practice group.
Richard has tried, arbitrated and mediated numerous complex disputes throughout his career. His extensive alternative dispute resolution experience includes leading hundreds of proceedings involving construction defects, catastrophic events and business conflicts. He is regularly sought out for his ability to resolve matters involving multiple parties and overlapping liability issues in high-value litigation.
Richard is a nationally recognized speaker on construction law, risk management and complex litigation. He has been a featured panelist and presenter at conferences across the country hosted by organizations including Perrin Conferences, DRI, West Coast Casualty, the Association of General Contractors, and the Seminar Group. He has also presented to industry groups such as the California Society of CPAs, AEI-Brookings, and the American Law Institute on topics ranging from green building and modular construction to litigation strategy, professional liability and catastrophic loss.
Prior to joining the firm, Richard was a founding shareholder of a full-service California litigation firm of Chapman Glucksman, where he led trial teams in major construction and commercial matters statewide. His leadership and influence within the legal and construction industries earned him the Legends of an Era Award presented at West Coast Casualty’s Annual Construction Seminar.
Richard earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and holds a B.A., cum laude, in history from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Richard lives in Santa Monica with his wife, Lori, and has a son, daughter and 2 grandchildren.
