Segal McCambridge Detroit Shareholder David J. Yates and Senior Associate Kelly K. Glish were successful in attaining an appellate win for their client in the Michigan Court of Appeals in a truck v. car highway accident.
In this case, the accident occurred when Plaintiff’s car spun out on an icy highway and eventually into the path of our client’s moving semi. There were serious injuries and Plaintiff demanded seven figures. The event was captured on our client’s dashcam video. We filed a motion for summary disposition at the trial court level that was denied after the judge concluded there was a question of fact for the jury.
Segal McCambridge subsequently filed an application for appeal which the Appellate Court agreed to take up. Senior Associate Kelly K. Glish drafted the winning briefs that were brought to life during oral argument by Shareholder David J. Yates to secure a big win for their client. The Appellate Court reversed and remanded for entry of judgment in our favor.
