Léa Caurand focuses her practice on civil litigation including tort defense, labor law claims and premises liability matters. She is involved in all stages of litigation from drafting pleadings and motions to handling discovery and representing clients in court conferences.

Additionally, Léa has experience advising technology clients as outside counsel on contract matters including indemnification, liability limitations, insurance, data privacy and payment terms.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Léa gained litigation experience as an associate attorney at a New York litigation firm where she worked on tort defense, labor law and premises liability cases. Before being admitted to practice, she also served as a commercial litigation law clerk conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions and managing discovery for high-value cases. Her legal experience extends internationally having interned at a law firm in Paris where she worked on labor and private law matters.

Léa earned her LL.M. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She also holds a master’s degree in English and North American business law and a master’s degree in general private law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University. She earned a double degree in law and history with honors from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

She lives in New York City where she is always on the hunt for good restaurants and bakeries although she misses her French croissants a lot. She enjoys live music, traveling, boxing, salsa and yoga.
