Sebastian Melo-Ortiz defends clients in product liability, toxic tort, First Amendment and commercial litigation matters.
He assists clients through all stages of litigation and has extensive experience conducting depositions, attending court proceedings, and drafting pleadings, motions and discovery-related materials.
Before joining Segal McCambridge, Sebastian was the managing attorney of a boutique law firm in Brooklyn, New York. In this role he directed the defense of all actions pending in the New York Supreme Courts, managed the defense of no-fault declaratory judgment actions, engaged in settlement negotiations and assisted in the defense of federal civil Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act actions.
Sebastian earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2013. While working on his degree, he served as the notes and articles editor for Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Law Journal, Volume XXIII. He also attended Fordham University in the Gabelli School of Business where he earned a B.S. in public accounting.
He is fluent in Polish.
