Segal McCambridge New York Shareholder Madina Axelrod, and Detroit Shareholder Kenneth Williams, are scheduled to speak at Perrin Conferences' upcoming Diversity & Inclusion Conference which will be held at the Union League of Philadelphia on November 1, 2018.
Madina will present on the panel, “Insights on Diversity in the Legal Community - The Law Firm Perspective.” In addition to exploring the implications of diversity and inclusion within the law firm setting, her panel will discuss how diversity and inclusion initiatives are being tracked. She and her panel will explore incentives related to these issues and will discuss diversity and inclusion in recruitment, hiring and retention of employees.
Kenneth will present on a panel titled, "Deconstructing the Definition of Diversity by Introducing its Various Dimensions." His panel will specifically address diversity, and how it is more than what is racially, culturally and physically evident, business inclusion groups (BIGs), and how to create a new paradigm of inclusion.
Madina Axelrod and Kenneth Williams are both members of Segal McCambridge's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, with Madina serving as the Chair. The Committee consists of members from all eight of the firm's offices across the country, and helps to ensure that the firm is focused on its diversity and inclusion goals and objectives. In particular, the Committee is involved in: diversity education; recruitment, retention and promotion of qualified attorneys and staff; participation in community activities; attorney professional development and pro bono work; and identification of new opportunities and approaches to promote diversity and inclusion within the firm.
