John Sechler focuses his practice on general litigation matters including negligence, insurance and trucking/transportation matters. He has extensive experience in all stages of litigation including filing lawsuits, conducting discovery, case evaluation, preparing and arguing dispositive motions, negotiating settlements and serving as counsel for trial and appellate practice.

Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, John worked as an associate at a national insurance defense firm. He also served as an extern in the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and as a clerk for the Macomb County Circuit Court and 45-A District Court.

John earned his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he was on the dean’s list and earned top student honors in alternative dispute resolution and pretrial skills. He holds a B.A. in English from Oakland University.
