Christopher P. Norton

Chris Norton is a seasoned attorney focusing his practice on civil litigation for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining the firm, he dedicated the majority of the past decade to practicing law as a litigator at a prominent U.S. “Big Law” firm. His practice includes high-profile cases involving former athletes, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, FDA issues, class actions, and other complex disputes, as well as defending skilled nursing homes against elder abuse and wrongful death claims in California.  Representing a diverse client base, from Fortune 500 companies to individuals, Chris is skilled in managing all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts nationwide.

With a focus on efficiency and innovative problem-solving, Chris streamlines and coordinates mass tort litigation, serving as national counsel and defense liaison counsel in coordinated proceedings.  He regularly implements document management protocols and litigation holds; identifying, developing, and presenting defense experts; deposing expert witnesses and key fact witnesses; and preparing company witnesses for testimony. He also has a unique ability to connect with witnesses and translate complex issues into persuasive, concise narratives.

Chris excels in developing compelling defense trial themes, implementing aggressive defense strategies, and navigating complex litigation with finesse. He has a proven track record of resolving high-profile cases while safeguarding clients’ business operations and reputation.  From inception of any litigation, dispute  or problem—all the way through trial—Chris is a go to litigator to aid clients in solving problems, negotiating favorable settlements, or providing advice and guidance with an ability to navigate politically sensitive situations in a unique and effective manner. 

In addition to his professional work, Chris is dedicated to pro bono efforts, regularly assisting Public Counsel in Los Angeles. He engages in various pro bono matters, including representing children seeking asylum. Before joining Segal McCambridge, Chris practiced at an international litigation and business law firm, representing pharmaceutical and medical device companies in cutting-edge litigation.

Outside of the legal realm, Chris, a former college baseball player, remains active in several Los Angeles area baseball leagues.  Chris and his wife recently welcomed their first child.
